Believing that the livestock industry is of basic
importance to world existence, we, the

dedicate ourselves to support it with our labor
and finances; to promote it through information
and publicity; to encourage its producers with our
understanding and love; to do all in our power to instill
in the coming generation the love of the land and
of life, the humility and awe before Nature, and the
hope and faith in the future that is inherent in
cattlemen and cattlewomen

K-State Collegiate Cattlewomen Poem
By: Ron Wilson, Poet Lariat

It's mighty good to be with all of you tonight,
For the Collegiate Cattlewomen are doing things right.

I commend you for all the projects you do,
In giving leadership while promoting the beef industry too.

You've been involved with Beef Cook-Off and KLA Convention,
Along with other activities too numerous to mention.

There's Cowboy Olympics and Kiddie Barnyard, they say,
Along with Open House, family recipes and Cattlemen's Day.

Speaking of Cowboy Olympics, to me it seems,
I was mighty impressed with that Cowpatties team.

And I also want to compliment you,
For the showing made by the Udder Crew.

You have a lot of fun, and so should,
But you're also doing the beef industry a lot of good.

And in addition to the other good projects you've built,
You're selling those beautiful animal science quilts.

The Department of Animal Sciences is celebrating 100 years,
Of excellence in teaching, extension and researching new frontiers.

So I commend you for working together in unity,
For the betterment of beef and the agricultural community.

Your work for the livestock industry is truly great,
So it's fun to be with the Collegiate Cattlewomen of K-State.
