State Shows

The Kansas State Fair Grand Drive and Kansas Junior Livestock Show (KJLS) are the two primary opportunities bonafide Kansas 4-H and FFA members have to exhibit in state youth livestock shows. Both shows are held in the fall each year. Youth who would like to exhibit market animals or commercial females in either show must nominate their animals in order for them to be eligible. The deadline to nominate market beef animals is May 1, with all other specie nominations being due June 15. Please visit the Nomination Information tab for more information on completing the state livestock nomination process. Once a complete nomination is submitted, families are eligible to enter and participate in the Kansas State Fair Grand Drive and/or KJLS. The K-State Department of Animal Sciences & Industry serves as the central location to accept and process nominations, while each individual show manages their own rules, entry system, and livestock show.

A state livestock nomination DOES NOT constitute an entry. Nomination is only the first step in making animals eligible to exhibit at a state show. All exhibitors of market animals, commercial females, and purebred breeding females must officially enter and pay entry fees for each show in which they would like to participate.

Information for each state show is provided below, including the links to enter. If you have specific questions, please contact the appropriate show management directly.
