KSU ASI Tailgates Before Home Football Games to Continue

K-State ASI department to host pre-game tailgate parties at Stanley Stout Center.

TailgateMANHATTAN, Kan. – The K-State Department of Animal Sciences and Industry (ASI) will host tailgates for KSU ASI family and friends prior to home football games this fall. The tailgates will be hosted at a new location— the Stanley Stout Center — starting three hours before kickoff.

All tailgates will be hosted at the Stanley Stout Center, 2200 Denison Avenue (just north of the intersection of Kimball Avenue and Denison Avenue).

Road Map

Kimball Avenue Closure | Stadium Arrival (Starting Oct. 30 — TCU Game)

Kimball Avenue between Denison Avenue and Manhattan Avenue east of Bill Snyder Stadium is closed for the remainder of the football season as the next phase of the North Campus Corridor project is underway. As a result, gameday traffic from Tuttle Creek Boulevard will be rerouted to Marlatt Avenue beginning with the October 30 2:30 p.m. contest against TCU.

Fans traveling to the stadium from the east side of Manhattan on Tuttle Creek Boulevard (US 24) will need to detour to Marlatt, approximately one-half mile north of Kimball. From there, fans can access the stadium's parking lots and satellite parking areas utilizing Denison, College or Browning avenues.

The menu for afternoon games includes burgers, brats, chips, and soft drinks or water. Grilling will start 3 ½ hours before kickoff. The morning game menu may include biscuits and gravy, but will be dependent on weather.

The ASI student clubs will be parking cars as a fundraiser in three locations – Stanley Stout Center Entrance, Sheep and Meat Goat Center, or the KSU Foundation lot.

Each car will pay a $20 parking fee at the Stanley Stout Center entrance and receive a car pass for the dash. The tailgate guests have two parking options. Option 1. Individuals who normally park at the stadium will be refunded the $20 parking fee when they return the car pass as they exit the Stanley Stout Center on Denison Avenue on their way to the stadium. Option 2. Individuals wanting to park at the Stanley Stout Center entrance, the Sheep and Meat Goat Center, or the KSU Foundation will use this option. The $20 parking fee and the car pass will allow them to park at the Stanley Stout Center entrance, the Sheep and Meat Goat Center, or the KSU Foundation lot, depending on availability.

There will be a shuttle operating from the Stanley Stout Center entrance to the west end of the KSU Foundation lot before kickoff. After the game, the shuttle will operate only on the east side of Denison Avenue to take visitors to their vehicles. This is due to Denison Avenue traffic flow going north following the game, which prevents the shuttle from crossing Denison Avenue.

NOTE: Beginning Oct. 18, 2021, Kimball Avenue will be closed between Denison Avenue and North Manhattan Avenue for construction. Updates on traffic flow as it relates to K-State football games will be forthcoming.
