Annual trip

In January each year, the International Poultry Exposition, which is the largest animal meeting in the world, occurs in Atlanta, Georgia. Almost 20,000 people from around the world attend the scientific sessions and a poultry industry trade show. At the trade show, the US Poultry and Egg Association sponsors a collegiate program designed to introduce students to careers in poultry and the related industries. Job interview and career counseling programs are available. The collegiate program provides part of the costs for students to participate.

Students for ASI have the opportunity to travel to the event, usually with students for the Department of Grain Sciences. Application forms and reservations must be made early, so students are encouraged to contact Dr. Beyer with their interest as soon as possible each fall semester. The list must be submitted by October.
