Braudrick joins KSU ASI Department as K-State Rodeo Coach
MANHATTAN, Kan. — The Kansas State University Department of Animal Sciences and Industry is pleased to announce the hiring of Christi Braudrick as the new K-State Rodeo Team Coach.
In this role, Braudrick will oversee team practices and competitions, including the upcoming K-State Rodeo in February 2026. She will also advise the K-State Rodeo Club, lead recruiting efforts for prospective student-athletes, and continue to build upon the team’s long-standing tradition of excellence.
“We’re thrilled to welcome Christi Braudrick as our new Rodeo Coach,” said Teresa Douthit, Department of Animal Sciences and Industry Interim Department Head. “Her depth of experience in collegiate rodeo, her strong leadership and team management skills, and her understanding of what makes a program thrive make her an outstanding fit for our department. I’m confident she’ll bring energy, professionalism, and a great sense of connection to our students and the broader rodeo community.”
Braudrick brings more than 25 years of experience in coaching and education, including 12 years as a rodeo coach. Outside of coaching, she is actively involved in the rodeo community, serving on the National Intercollegiate Rodeo Association Alumni Board and with the Women’s Professional Rodeo Association as the Roping Director. As a competitor, Braudrick has earned numerous accolades, including being named the 2024 Prairie Circuit Breakaway Roping Year-End and Average Champion.
Founded in 1946, the K-State Rodeo Team has built a proud tradition of excellence. The team competes in the National Intercollegiate Rodeo Association’s Central Plains Region and hosts one of the largest student-run rodeos in the country. In addition to competition, the K-State Rodeo Club provides opportunities for all students interested in the rodeo industry.
The department looks forward to the leadership and vision Braudrick will bring to the program when she begins this role on Jan. 5, 2026.
