Animal Sciences and Industry Names 2025-26 Outstanding Seniors

MANHATTAN, Kan. – The Department of Animal Sciences and Industry is excited to recognize the 2025-2026 ASI Outstanding Seniors. This award honors seniors who have demonstrated excellence through their academics, industry involvement, leadership and service to the department. This award is an accompaniment to the Don and Jane Good Outstanding Senior Award.

The ASI Outstanding Senior award was created to recognize students whose achievements reflect the opportunities within the animal sciences field. It aims to highlights individuals who have made a meaningful impact on the department and who show strong potential for continued leadership in the industry.

The 2025–26 ASI Outstanding Seniors are:

  • Molly Brown, from Lecompton, Kansas, is graduating with a degree in Animal Sciences & Industry with an emphasis in Management/Industry and a minor in Avian Science through the Midwest Poultry Consortium Center of Excellence. During her time at K-State, she was involved in Animal Science Academic Quadrathlon, where her team earned both the 2026 K-State and Regional Champion titles, Sigma Alpha Professional Agricultural Sorority, College of Agriculture Ambassadors, Avian Science Club, Poultry Judging Team, the Midwest Poultry Consortium Center of Excellence Program, and undergraduate research. Following graduation, Molly will remain at K-State to pursue her master’s degree under Dr. Scott Beyer, focusing on poultry nutrition and management. Her favorite ASI memories include asking her friends to help catch and weigh pheasants for her research trial and traveling to Nebraska with her Quadrathlon team to win the regional competition, experiences made even more meaningful by sharing them with lifelong friends from ASI.

  • Preston Dunn, of St. John, Kansas, is graduating with dual degrees in Animal Science: Management/Industry and Agricultural Economics, along with a minor in Business. Throughout his time at K-State, he was active in FarmHouse Fraternity, the Center for Risk Management Education and Research, the Livestock Judging Team, Meat Animal Evaluation Team, Student Alumni Board, and Blue Key Honor Society. After graduation, Preston will join StoneX in Kansas City as a Commodity Finance Analyst working with the protein group while remaining involved in his family’s operation and continuing to grow his auction and equipment sales business. His favorite ASI memories include learning from faculty members, especially Dr. Grieger’s bovine palpation class, and traveling with the livestock and meat animal evaluation teams to places like Texas, where he gained hands-on experience judging Bos indicus cattle and visiting diverse operations.

  • Kenedy DeVoe, from Justin, Texas, is graduating with a degree in Animal Sciences & Industry with an emphasis in Management/Industry. During her time at K-State, she was involved in the Livestock Judging Team, Meat Animal Evaluation Team, ASI Mentors, and undergraduate research. Following graduation, Kenedy will pursue a master’s degree in the Animal Breeding and Genetics department at K-State, where her research will focus on beef sustainability and incorporating methane phenotypes into genetic selection programs. Her favorite ASI memory was participating in the Meat Animal Evaluation contest.

  • Calley Stubbs, from Wallace, Kansas, is graduating with a degree in Animal Sciences & Industry with an emphasis in Management/Industry. She was actively involved in Collegiate Cattlewomen, the Meats Judging Team, and ASI Mentors during her time at K-State. After graduation, Calley plans to pursue a master’s degree in ruminant nutrition under Dr. Blasi at Kansas State University. Among her favorite ASI memories is traveling to New York with the meats judging team, where they spent countless hours exploring the meat industry, walking the city, and creating lasting memories together.

  • Callahan “Callie” Riewald, from Colorado Springs, Colorado, is graduating with a degree in Animal Sciences & Industry on the pre-veterinary track. Her involvement at K-State included Horse Judging, Pre-Vet Society, College of Agriculture Ambassadors, ASI Mentors, and serving as an undergraduate research assistant in the Pet Food Research Lab. Following graduation, Callie will attend veterinary school at Colorado State University in Fort Collins, Colorado, with hopes of pursuing a career in equine medicine focused on large animal surgery. Her favorite ASI memory was traveling with the K-State Horse Judging Team to the American Paint Horse World Show in Fort Worth, Texas. Alongside her teammates she competed against universities from across the country, helped the team place third overall, and earned first in reasons and second in performance placings while making lifelong memories.

  • Paige Soper, of Baldwin City, Kansas, is graduating with a degree in Animal Sciences & Industry. During her time at K-State, she was involved in College of Agriculture Ambassadors, Block and Bridle, IHSA, and undergraduate research. Paige plans to continue her education through graduate school with the KSU Applied Swine Nutrition Team. Her favorite ASI memories include late nights studying in the library with friends and early morning weigh days with pigs, because of the people she shared them with and the experiences that came with them.

  • Wyatt Dooley, from Yellowstone National Park, Wyoming, is graduating with a degree in Animal Sciences & Industry with an emphasis in Management/Industry and a minor in Agricultural Sales. He was involved in Block & Bridle Club, ASI Mentors, the Collegiate Horse Judging Team, undergraduate research, and Swine Club during his time at K-State. Following graduation, Wyatt plans to pursue a career with large livestock or animal health companies where he can continue developing as a leader while staying connected to production agriculture, supporting student development and industry outreach. Long term, he hopes to help bridge the gap between industry and academia while advancing innovation within livestock operations. His favorite ASI memory was studying abroad in Argentina with K-State ASI, especially experiencing Iguazu Falls and traveling alongside friends and classmates who made the trip unforgettable.

  • Cecillia Newby, from Oswego, Kansas, is graduating with a degree in Animal Sciences & Industry with an emphasis in Management/Industry. Throughout her time at K-State, she was involved in ASI Mentors, Collegiate Cattlewomen, Snyder Legacy Leadership Fellows, Little American Royal Beef Chair, Block and Bridle, and Collegiate Farm Bureau. Following graduation, Cecillia plans to attend graduate school focusing on agricultural policy and genetics. Her favorite ASI memory was attending the ASI Welcome Back Tailgate, where she enjoyed reconnecting with friends and meeting new people within the department.

  • Carson Corwin, from Odessa, Missouri, is graduating with a degree in Animal Sciences & Industry on the Pre-Vet/Science track along with a Dairy Science Certificate. During his time at K-State, he was involved in Dairy Science Club, Little American Royal, ASI Mentors, Dairy Challenge Team, Dairy Farm Evaluation Club, Dairy Judging, the K-State Animal Sciences and Leadership Academy (KASLA), ASI Quadrathlon, and Turf Science Club. Following graduation, Carson will continue his education at K-State by pursuing a master’s degree in animal science with the Ruminant Nutrition Team, where his research will focus on dairy cattle nutrition and studying yeast supplementation in prepartum dairy cows and calves. Among his favorite ASI memories are participating in the ASI Quadrathlon and the Little American Royal, both of which provided countless memorable experiences throughout his time in the department.

  • Weston Schrader, the recipient of the Don and Jane Good Outstanding Senior in ASI award, graduated with a degree in Animal Sciences & Industry with an emphasis in Management/Industry and a minor in Agricultural Economics. During his time at K-State, Weston was involved in the 2023 Livestock Judging Team, the 2023 National Champion Meat Animal Evaluation Team, ASI Mentors, College of Agriculture Ambassadors, and served as the host of the “Voices of KSU ASI” Podcast. In January, Weston joined the Kansas Beef Council as the Manager of Industry Relations, where he coordinates Beef Checkoff collections and compliance efforts while leading producer outreach programming, including Beef Quality Assurance and engagement with 4-H, FFA, and other youth organizations. In his role, he works closely with producers, industry partners, and stakeholders across Kansas to support education, outreach, and Checkoff-funded initiatives that strengthen demand for beef and build trust within the industry. His favorite ASI memory was gathering with friends every Wednesday night for Bible study and dinner.
