Born and raised in Buenos Aires, Argentina, Leandro has always had a deep interest for livestock. For that reason, he went to Veterinarian School at Buenos Aires University and earned his degree in 2013. During vet school he specialized in Animal Production and found his passion for Swine Nutrition.

In 2013, he moved to the United States to do an internship in LB Pork, a 12,000 sows family farm in Minnesota. In the year he spent there, experienced the Porcine Epidemic Diarrhea outbreak and was amazed by the Industry and Universities response to that new challenge. At that time, he knew he just wanted to be part of that.

Back in Argentina, he spent two years working for Cargill as a Technician and Sales Representative of Buenos Aires. He really enjoyed working with farmers and helping their businesses to grow and become more efficient.

In 2018, he started his PhD program at Kansas State University with the K-State Applied Swine Nutrition Team. His current research focus is vitamin requirements for growing and finishing pigs and sea weeds extract effects in sows and their offspring.

In his spare time, Leandro likes playing sports, being outdoor and traveling.
