1. What is desnooding?
This is the removal of the snood, which in the fleshy appendage on top of the head of a turkey. Desnooding helps to prevent injury from picking and fighting. The snood can be removed on a day-old poult with the thumb nail and finger pressure or nail clippers.

2. What is a "pendulous crop" in turkeys?
It is a condition where the crop of the turkey pulls away from the neck causing feed and water to accumulate and become sour. Birds with a genetic weakness to this condition may develop the deformity when exposed to hot weather with subsequent heavy consumption of water. treatment is useless. Ample shade and a continuous supply of water are preventative measures.
