K-State's 42nd Anniversary Bull and Female Sale Scheduled for March 1
Videos are now posted for the Purebred Beef Unit's Legacy Sale that will feature 29 yearling bulls, 15 registered females, 20 commercial heifers and five ranch horses.
MANHATTAN, Kan. – Kansas State University's Department of Animal Sciences and Industry will host the Legacy Sale on Friday, March 1 at the Stanley Stout Center in Manhattan. This year marks the 42nd anniversary of the student-managed sale.
This year's offering includes 17 Angus, seven Simmental and five Hereford yearling bulls as well as 15 fall-bred cows, 21 commercial heifers and five AQHA ranch performance horses.
"This year's Legacy Sale offers a useful set of bulls along with fall-calving bred females and spring yearling commercial heifers that will be ready to breed this spring," Shane Werk, Purebred Beef Unit manager, says. "We wouldn't be able to make this event happen without the dedication and hard work of the student help. They've had the opportunity to learn and better their experience here at K-State by working at the Purebred Beef Unit."

Following Morgan's presentation, Glynn Tonsor, K-State agricultural economist, will discuss the importance of international trade as we expand the U.S. beef herd. The afternoon sessions will feature K-State faculty and industry presentations in Weber Hall and at the Beef Stocker Unit discussing a variety of topics.
