Phi Tau Sigma is an honorary society for the discipline of Food Science. It is affiliated with the Institute of Food Technologists (IFT). Recently, Dr. Karen Schmidt, professor of Food Science at Kansas State University, was selected by IFT for its 2004 Outstanding Food Scientist Award.
